Women are surfers… [singing in Japanese]

Accepting and letting go, letting go, letting go
and let myself to float in the wave.

Women are surfers,
But sometimes she lets her limbs away
And just surrenders herself to the wave.

Waves just come,
Did it hear my call or not?
Who knows, but it comes anyway.

Resist or love it,
That wave does not speak our language.
It just takes everything away.

Even if you run away from it,
There is no escape.
A moment of peace will be overthrown from its base;
It just takes everything away.

Even so, Paramita’s pearl jem
Can only be found in this wave.
The treasure of the earth is in the wave.

গ্রহণ করে আর ত্যাজ্য করে
ত্যাজ্য করে করে
ভাসিয়ে আত্ম তরঙ্গে –

নারী হয় তরঙ্গ
হয় সে চরণদাসী
অঙ্গকে ত্যাজ্য করে
তরঙ্গে সে করে আত্মাসমর্পণ ।

তরঙ্গ শুধু আসে
আমার ডাক শুনে কিনা কে জানে
তরঙ্গ শুধু আসবে ।

প্রতিহত করলেও
অনুরাগ করলেও
এ তরঙ্গ কথা বোঝে না
কেবল সকল করে হরণ
কোথায় যে পালায় !

পলালেও পলান কোথায় পারে
নিমেষের শান্তি ও ভূমিতলে ধরে
কেবল সকল করে হরণ
কোথায় যে পালায় ।

তবুও সেই তরঙ্গে আছে
পারমিতার মণি
এই জগতের রতন আছে সেই তরঙ্গেতে ।

Nandini di has given me great help for the Bengali translation.

In the hope that I am being sincere to the tradition and as a gesture of respect to its root culture, I have prepared this Bengali translation of my song that would never have come to life without my practice in Baul path.

And also wishing this to be one of the small bridges between Japanese persons and Baul tradition, I am publishing this despte my ego’s cry of embarassment.

One Baul song sings like this; “Tearing my heart, I write my letter…” and the poem songs in my very own language are really like that. I cannot claim it’s a Baul song, I dare not, but it is certainly something that came as a part of my path in Baul.
